Gary Kay
Dr. Kay is recognized for his expertise on
the effect of medications on brain functioning (memory, performance,
cognitive function, safety), a consultant to federal agencies
(ie. FAA, Department of Defense), developer of cognitive tests
utilized in NIH trials, CDC investigations and industry (aviation
and pharmaceutical).
The topic is unique and the data compelling. Dr. Kay has dedicated
much of his research to the effects of medications on the
CNS, specifically cognitive function. His program is tailored
to urologists and focuses on commonly prescribed medicines
used in the treatment of urological conditions /diseases.
This is especially important since many of the patients the
urologist treats are elderly and may already suffer from some
cognitive impairment, somnolence or dizziness. CNS side effects
are typically not "top of mind" with the urologist,
or patient, and are often unrecognized.
