2) Define new treatment developments based on prostate cancer biology.
3) Provide information about current clinical trials approaches including neoadjuvant therapy and antiangiogenesis therapies.

Dr. Fruehauf received his undergraduate degrees in psychology and biology at UC Santa Barbara in 1977. He then completed his MD and PhD in Pharmacology at Rush University in Chicago in 1985. Rush, established in 1837, was the first medical school west of the Appalachian Mountains. He then returned to the UC system for his Residency in Internal Medicine at UC Irvine, followed by Fellowships in Medical Oncology and Biotechnology at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda. While at the NCI, Dr. Fruehauf participated in bench to bedside research, converting in vitro results into clinical trials. In 1992, Dr. Fruehauf returned to California and worked as the Medical Director and Chief Scientific Officer for Oncotech in Irvine,

where he focused on the development of individualized treatment strategies for cancer patients based on their own unique tumor biology. Dr. Fruehauf joined the UC Irvine Cancer Center full time in 2004 as Director of Clinical Pharmacology and Developmental Therapeutics. Dr. Fruehauf’s laboratory efforts focus on identifying markers that predict individual patient response to treatment, with special emphasis on antiangiogenesis agents.
